Yet another clutch problem

Hey guys and gals, I was driving along the other day on a slightly straight where I heard a bang noise when I was changing gear clutch pedal sat on floor but I lifted it back up with my foot pedal now goes up and down as normal but the clutch won't disengage. I managed to get it home with the old rev and grind trick I automatically assumed it needed a new clutch kit, but the more I read up about the 8 it seems to suffer with quite a lot off clutch problems just wanna be sure it is that before I go and get a morgage to buy one cheers for any help people. Much love!

Where'd the bang come from? How loud was it?

When my clutch pedal finally snapped it was definitely audible.

I'm not to sure where it came from but pedal feels fine but it did stick down when it first happened clutch wasn't slipping or anything so I'm not sure how could I check if it was the pedal

Pedel seems to look okay in thinking it might be release bearing as clutch wasn't slipping and is less than 20 thousand miles old just don't want to have to put it in a garage and have to spend thousands before it's even fixed

release bearing usually makes a chatter when released at idle before going out and tearing up completely. before pulling transmission you could also check the slave cylinder make sure the push rod is still their and if its wet around it or the clutch master cylinder if its wet, you might have a high pressure leak.

Fluid has not dropped and pedal still works as normal maybe the car was making a slight chatter when idle but has since stopped since clutch has completely gone
