Wiring diagram format

Maybe I'm making more complicated than it needs to be :-) I've looked at the wiring diagram manual and I'm not sure I completely understand how to follow it as I couldn't find a legend or text explaining the steps. The color coding of wiring seems obvious as well as the layout of specific plugs. What seems to confuse me is whether specific attention is to be given to how wirings then bundle into harnesses or it's irrelevant, just the start and termination points are needed. There are different numbering logos which seem to refer to differences between a termination vs a continuation of the diagram to a different page. Any advice or explanation? Maybe there is a specific page that's missing.

It should all be listed at the front of the manual. If you have an online version rather than a book copy then most of those were preliminary and not complete, or even not entirely accurate. Same for the online service manual.

I suspected as much. I've looked around and while it's easy to find listings for a blue colored Mazda print as a service manual (by year), I haven't been able to locate a clear reference as to how many types of blue color manuals Mazda published for a given year. Some of the online versions are indicator, but it would make sense to ensure that the blue books are the correct ones for a given year. Any particular reasons the online versions aren't complete?
