What should I do ?
My car has been in the shop for like 3 months because I went to change my 02 sensors and the car did not stay neutral or in idle after I picked it up...the mechanic says they've done everything possible to it , and he's giving up on me and my 8 if this is the case ... Would reprogramming the computer solve it? It's the only thing that wasn't done

Did he say he knew how to fix rotaries?
Did you do the 20 brake pedal stomp, clean the ESS?

Driving my unreliable rx8
What was wrong with it that he replaced the 02 sensors?
Did he use quality stock replacements or did he use cheap POS universal sensors. If he used universal sensors they many just not work with the programing, but he might have thrown a Narrowband on the front and that would probably cause it not to run.
If he used stock replacements then My first guess would be check the neutral switch and reverse switch. If the neutral switch is wired wrong the idle will jump up and down then Die. Those wires are on the transmission and attached to the same harness as the rear 02 sensor.

They replaced my 02 sensors because it made my check engine light go on and I wasn't getting a reading back from both sensors so I replaced both at once and just took it out of mazda the other day . They put a new MAF and they saying it's good and I gotta drive it out, but I don't know if I'm not driving right or I. Doing something wrong, the car still dies and I've driven almost every night that I got it back, and I would also just chill in a lot and just keep it alive....and like it would stay on after 15 minutes of my foot doing the work..but as I start driving maybe 10 minutes after everything seems to be working fine , staying Alive idle . It would try to stay alive at 0-1 rpms then it'll give out

Life After 8K RPM....
Where exactly in Toronto are you?
Might wana show up at the car meet at kennedy and 401 by the StarBucks's parking lot on Friday nights. Someone there might be able to help you out.
Also, check out the Wird, he is a well known rotary guy in GTA and might aswell take your car to Mazmark auto on Eglinton and Warden they are pretty good with Rotaries.

^^ will clear the ECU, and tell it to start learning...
Do it with a cold engine, then start it and let it idle. I should idle high, let it. It should come down slowly, let it. When it gets down around 1,000 RPM (several minutes), it may start to hunt a bit. If it does, turn on the AC, that will bump the idle up and provide a bit of a load. After it is idling smoothly, it now knows how to idle. Then run it gently the next few times out and the ECU will learn the rest.
Post back if it works, or does not work please.
