What I think about this forum...

Hey guys. I just bought my RX-8 with 59,000 miles. It's a 2005 GT fully loaded 6 spd.

I was mainly looking for a 350z until I stumbled onto the RX-8. From previous documentation... Until then, I knew NOTHING about the Rx-8. Here is what I found out specifically through this forum.

1) Myths about premixing. Whether it prolongs the engine or not. I found that for personal assurance, I would like to premix. This forum told me to go with ide.

2) Checking the oil every fill up and premixing every fill up 4-6 ounces.

3) Plugs, coils, sparks every 20K at least.

4) Redline a day mnyth. Again whether it prolongs the engine or not... I found that I would like to do it. Besides, why else get this vehicle if I'm going to not take it up there?

-------------------------

So I found out that the previous owner did premix his vehicle. I found out that he completely replaced the radiator with Mazdaspeed's radiator and hoses. He also changed out the plugs, coils, sparks with the BHR kit.

So I picked it up! And in less than a month, I put on the AFE short shifter, midpipe, new tail lights, indash screen/stereo etc...

I found this forum extremely helpful with detailed DIY posts for pretty much everything I could think of. I did the stock airbox modification because of all the helpful posts here on this forum. I also did the SSV cleaning which was a pain in the butt. But it cleared my code!

I love my car. It runs better now than when I bought it. It feels eerie at the lack of vibration at high RPM as opposed to the S2000, but I love it. And you know what?

You bastards. I have to thank you. Thank you for informing me about my purchase and mods. Thank you for helping me put a hole in my wallet lol. But thank you for being so helpful and in general, having a great attitude.

While I'm continuing to mod my RX-8 at a much slower pace... like a small mod every couple of months or so, most of my fun money will be going into my other dream and passion: my motorcycle =D

Hope to get to know everyone here on this forum!

I'm glad your happy. A lot of us went through a lot of trouble and dead ends before finding what works best for this car over the last 10+ years.
