Hello guys I got a good deal for 6 speed MT and decided to swap it with my old 5 speed MT. I can't do it myself so the shop will do it and here is the problem - I need to know what else do I need besides the transmission I have because the shop won't keep it long enough for me to find all the other parts I need. So so far I was thinking to get the clutch kit and flywheel. What else I'm missing? By the way I have low power europe rx8 version and yes I have searched the forums and all I could find was the labor price.

 

Did the 6MT come with a shifter? If not, you may need to replace it as the 5MT shifter may not fit in the 6MT.

Beyond doing the clutch, there's not much down there that suddenly becomes easily accessible with the transmission out of the car. Maybe flush the clutch fluid.

 

not sure as we here in 'merica don't have the 5 speed but maybe the carbon fiber driveshaft

 

i have a cf driveshaft from a 6 speed if ya need one.

 

There was just a transmission without a shifter. So anything else I need besides these 2 parts? I just want to be sure that I won't miss anything when I will bring my rx and all the parts to the shop.
