Hello fellow Mazda folks...I am a long time Mazda owner & thinking about getting into an RX-8. The only experience I have had w/rotaries was my Moms '89 RX-7 GTU...which I drove a few times as a teenager (15 years ago i guess). I have driven an RX-8 pretty hard at ZZL (Zoom Zoom Live for those who remember that lol).
I've been reading a few of the "new to the RX-8 platform" threads & have learned a few things about the platform that I never really knew about before.

Anyway, I have had a fair share of M-badged cars.

Here was my 1991 Miata (turbo'd) *Started out ownership as my entry into the $2006 Grassroots Motorsports Challenge*
Ended up in Izmir, Turkey as my daily driver/track rat for 2 years.

Same powerplant as the Speed w/the 6spd auto...fun to drive at times.


Anyhow, the common theme with above was that 3/4 were white (white water pearl ftw!) & the words 'Here was...".

We are currently "car less". Currently 7 months into a 12 month tour in the Mid-East...sold all our cars to make room for something new for her & the kid...and something sporty for me when we move back to the US around Aug.
So here I am figured I'd give the RX-8 a shot.
I'd like to keep the streak of white going...but thinking of a black or gray one to change things up a bit.
I'm not sure how this community views other forums, but I was pretty active on Mazdas247/MOCC/& ofc MSF (THE place to go for info on the MS6) Possible I may run into a few old friends here.
I am fairly experienced in light to moderate modding, so whichever way I go, it will be modified...probably following closely to what was done w/the MS6.

Anyway...I hope to contribute something to these forums in the future, add to the betterment of the community & most importantly learn something.

Pretty cool mom. I've got a black streak going All my RX's and my Jeep have been black.

 

Yep...grew up in a house full of car junkies. Dad still lives in Jamaica where they get the non-watered down Japanese/Euro/Aussie cars. I remember riding in my dads old juiced up mini cooper as a little kid.
Mom had that 7 & step dad (RIP) had a 1990 Toyo Supra single turbo with some pretty serious mods. The good old days.
I imagine this was around 91-92 when i got that "turbo" bug.
