Hi, I just recently bought and rx-8 2007 touring model. my tail lights went out the other night, and i got pulled over, so the next day i went and bought new fuses, and new tail light bulbs and it fixed it, but then a couple nights later they went out again and i got pulled over again. can someone please help me figure out what’s wrong? i believe it’s faulty wiring but i don’t know how to fix that, nor do i know how to find broken wires. so if someone could please help a brother out that would be awesome, thank you.

P.S: All the other lights in the back work, reverse lights, brake lights, blinkers, it’s just the running lights.

Is the fuse or the light that is burning out causing the lights to go out? Is it the running light that goes out or the brake light or both? Possible one of the wires broke in the boot lid. those wires are notorious for chaffing or breaking. Best to check the wiring as well, its pretty simple for running lights, easy to follow. Should be obvious if there's an issue.

well at first when i replaced the parts, the fuse and the bulb were both out, but i checked them both again after the tail lights went out again, and neither the bulbs or the fuses were blown. and it’s only the running light that is out, all the other ones work

Has to be a problem in the wiring. You'll need to trace the wires in the boot lid and ensure none are broken or chaffed.

I’ll post pictures later and see if you can spot any, because i can’t spot any broken wires

It's a pretty simple system. If the fuse is good and the light is good it has to be a wiring issue. Could be a poor ground as well. I've fixed a lot of problems just by either cleaning, fixing or adding grounds to the wiring harness.
