This is a case where the owner's manual comes in handy, since these pages are included in it:

If you don't have an owner's manual, go to MazdaUSA.com and sign up under the Owners section for a free account with your VIN, and then download the PDFs of your owner's manual and other useful documentation.

if it comes on and disappears it's most likely a bad sensor/tank - a common problem.

wait till the car cools down and check the coolant level just to be safe though

watch your temp gauge religiously and turn the car off if it starts getting past the halfpoint in the dial

Temp gauge isn't much use. By the time it moves you can be in big trouble. Especially if it's because of low coolant. Just visually inspect the level in the bottle often - needs to be between the high and low marks - until you figure whether it's really leaking or just the sensor.
