Stupid snap things
Is there a trick or something to getting off these stupid snap fastener THINGS that hold all the wires under the hood in place? And no, I don't have the owners manual and don't want to download the PDF via LTE. 2gb monthly data cap =[

And I have this stupid f****** hose thing that is sitting exactly where I need to get my socket/extender into to reach that nut and I don't have the faintest clue how to move it. All the DIY's I've read don't mention having to move the hose.
This one is most helpful but his hose thing is nice and conveniently out of the way so it isn't much help. https://www.rx8club.com/series-i-do-...s-pics-178515/

I had to laugh when I read the post title 'cos I used to say the same thing about bra clasps.
Seriously, though, if it like the standard clamps, there will be 1 side that hinges and the opposite side locks into 2 pieces of plastic that literally sandwich it to lock it. The easiest way to release this style is to insert a really small slotted screwdriver between the outer tab and the loop and gently twist it til the outer tab shifts enough to release the loop lock.
Odds are, if that style of clamp is on the hose, the retainers on the ignition wires will have the same sort of locking mechanism and can be released the same way.

Hahaha that is a fantastic comparison. But seriously, I ended up just getting so annoyed with them that we decided to just work around them and went and bought a flexible extension for the ratchet
But it all paid off. We replaced the plugs/coils/wires with autozone parts; I was going to go with BHR but decided that if the misfire wasn't coming from old parts, I didn't want to put a ton of wear from a busted engine on brand new $600 parts. I also cleaned the MAF and dumped some injector cleaner in the tank.
Results? CEL gone, idles absolutely perfect and feels smoother too, first gear also drives smoother. And since the CEL is gone, we drove out to the stealership and complained till they did the compression test that I was promised before I got the car.
Rotor 1: 7.5, 7.6, 7.3 @ 250rpm
Rotor 2: 7.4, 7.3, 7.4 @ 249rpm
