Steering uj changed cant reset traction control
Hi all,
Okay i replaced my lower steering Universal Joint at the rack as it had siezed solid. Since then i have not been able to reset the traction control.
I have tried the normal ignition on left lock, right lock start the car.
Driven it 5 miles and tried the reset again still no good.
I then figured i had got it out of allignment.
So removed steering wheel air bag and lined the straightened steering shaft up with the postion sensor arrows behind the airbag. Had to remove the UJ and repositioned as best i could. The steering wheel is now straight when driving in a straight line. If anything i could be one tooth out on the rack.
Is this going to be enough to cause the DSC fault??
This is really doing my head in now
Thanks in advance for your time

If you don't have the steering wheel EXACTLY in the right position on the splines, you will be causing all sorts of DSC problems. I nearly wrecked from 1 tooth off and DSC engaged at very much the wrong point. It's not something you only have to get "close" on.

Thanks i have checked all the fuses and wirring twice... I dont have an ABS light just the DSC will not reset.
Also I did not have any issues until i changed the steering UJ.
Is this going to be a stealership job? Are they even able to pinpoint the issue with there software?
Sorry have just read your post properly, i had to refresh and sign back in. Hope i am just a tooth out.....guess i will be at a few more hours
Thanks RIWWP
