Starter Issues

Hello, I have a 2004 Mazda RX-8 and I seem to be stumbling across issues with it. I'm extremely new to cars, as this is my first one, but I'm doing everything I can to learn all about how to properly take care, diagnose, avoid, and fix issues that I come across with this car.

For the past 3 weeks, I have been out of state visiting family (I live in Virginia). My car had been housed in my garage and hadn't been run. I just went out to start it up and back it out and the starter wouldnt fire. YouTube I attempted to jump the car for a good 15-20 minutes and no change was shown and I was still unable to start it. The battery is fairly new.

I was wondering if this is a starter issue in which I need to purchase and install a new one? Or what? L

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you so much!

The video is private FYI.

Oh and search, it is likely flooded but it could be many things.

Yea, I just realized that. I fixed it so you can see it now. I did do quite a bit of research on it and it doesn't act like it's flooded, but then again, I'm no expert.

Read the New and Potential owners sticky, located at the top of the new members forum.

Also, there is a sticky thread in the troubleshooting forum "starting issues START HERE". That should set you on the right path of troubleshooting your current issue. If you still have problems, report them here.

AutoZone can do a starter test free of charge. Same with alternators and batteries.
