how do you go about fitting one of these? is it screwed up through the boot, is it easy enough for a non pro to fit? considering new boots are cheap enough to practice on?

I installed mine. If you buy a new one, it comes with a paper template for hole placement. You'll need a good drill and a big drill bit (12mm?). You'll drill three giant holes per side of the trunk and then bolt it on from the bottom.

In my honest opinion, she looks ugly without spoiler. I don't like the factory spoiler either and MS spoiler/wing is too expensive so I decided to get a jdm trunk lip looks awesome its neat and faaaar from that ricey look :-)
