Post Sorry I know its been asked.

Im buying a 2004 Rx* 6 speed manual potentially and am curious as to what questions to ask the dealer. I am getting it from a certified Mazda dealership and it has 22k on it currently. Hopefully it was maintained and not sold due to being a lemon originally. Interior is immaculate and seems clean. Carfax shows regular maintenance done. It will be my first rotary and I have read that they can be tricky to maintain, but reliable and a hell of a lot of fun if you do so. Im sure this has been asked before but don't want to miss anything. Cheers.

Read the new owners thread that is stickied at the top of this forum. Don't be lazy or you will regret it. Rotary ownership is not to be taken lightly.

Make sure the compression numbers are good. Like he said, these motors are not something to not pay attention too!

Make sure they give you the actual numbers. I had a mazda salesman tell me the compression was good on a 09 that i was looking at. I asked for the numbers and they didn't have them. Had them run the test while i waited, the numbers were below the fail line. Out the door I went.

It's not unheard of to ask for a digital picture of the compression results next to your car's vin plate.

Pretty damn clean. That strut tower brace is beautiful too.

Also compression testers are cheap these days. I've got the TR-01 from Twisted Rotors. Worth every penny if you plan on owning a rotary.

Wow, a S1 with such low mileage?
That's a good find.
How much does it go for?
