So Im looking at an RX8 guy took very well care of it. Car has 45k on engine and 75k on motor. He told me the motor it came with was faulty and he replaced it through warranty in 2009 and has proper paper work with it. We settled at 8200 for the car but first I want opinions. Also my biggest question is how many miles can I expect out of this car before its time to get rid of it. This will be my first rotary engine.

Do not buy unless you get a proper compression test done with a compression tester meant for rotary engines. And you can get many many miles out of it as long as you do proper maintenance on it. Wires, coils, plugs, the coolant system just to name a few. Oh and OIL OIL OIL. This is not a cheap car to maintain so if you are not prepared for the it you will hate it and will be postings about how you hate it and it sucks on gas milage. Oh and read the new owners threads, all of them. Hell I have had mine for years and still search and read all the time. You can never learn too much.
