Should I buy this rx8?
Hey so I’m looking into my first rx8, it’s a 2004 with 145k km on it. Right now it has issues with running cold( missfires when cold) but when it heats up it runs well.
It has these codes popping up
P0301 misfire
P0107 MAP sensor
U0155 communication error
P0456 Evap leak
the car will cost 2000$ Canadian
is this a buy that can be fixed with out breaking the bank

No, you should not buy this car. If you want an 8 and don't want to spend a lot of money, limit yourself to '05 and later models (avoid first-year-of-production cars with their inevitable teething problems) with no misfiring issues, hot or cold. Above all else, do not buy any used 8 that has not passed a rotary-specific compression test performed by an authorized Mazda dealer or other rotary-trained mechanic.

If you can get it for < CAD$1000, then maybe... But, even then, I wouldn't unless I needed a parts car.
Without a compression test, expect to put another CAD$5000 into it to get it running properly.

Smoking turbo yay
Yep, get a rotary-specific compression test first.
With that many codes, I would think the previous owner didn't take good care of it.
A reman engine all said and done is more like CAN$6000.
