Does anyone know where I can get a proper compression test in WV? more specifically near Nicholas county/Beckley area. I don't know of any certified Mazda dealers in the area but maybe a shop thats been known to service rotaries or a local owner that has a tester? I don't want to go through the process of calculating the rpms manually on a standard tester.

 

I believe there is a Mazda dealer in Beckley. Maybe not there anymore? Lester Raines in Charleston. How qualified they are is questionable. They worked on mine for 9 years. But told me a lot of crap that even I knew was wrong.

 

According to the Mazda website dealer locator Lester Raines is closest but I've heard a lot of bad about them. Don't think they can screw up a compression test too bad though, as long as the have an OEM tester. I work for a huge car dealership that I've heard our inventory manager talk about trading to Raines before. I'm just awkward about talking to the management here, I'm kinda new. I'll try to use their association to talk Raines into letting me watch them do the test if I ever have another reason to go to Charleston (I've seen our dealership let customers spy on our service center before). I'm not going to go that far just for a test though, maybe I'll do some christmas shopping over there soon though, who knows.

Thanks for your input, I'll do some digging on that place in Beckley too, that would be convenient as I find myself there at least once a month.
