Hiya,

Recently bought an S1 231 and was greeted to some lovely gearbox noise. Turns out the dust boot beneath the shifter boot has split left right and centre (also subject to some clutch release bearing noise but as far as I can tell this is normal a lot of the time however worrying the sound may be).

Having looked online, most of the replacement dust boots available are numbered as F157 64 490A, rather than the F157 64 481 I have found in my own car.

I am wondering if 490A superseded 481 and if it would be a direct fit or not?

F157 64 481 doesn't exist as a part number. The latest part number for the dust boots for your car is F157-64-490A, direct fit.
