Talking Series I / II differences?

Hi All-

Hopefully you'll have some patience for what might be a silly question. How can I tell what I have, series I or II ? I picked up a parts car with no doors, smashed to the front and missing a few other parts. Unfortunately I pitched the mangled front end parts I took off as I was trying to start it. The impact was directly to the fuse panel and relays, that was fun to figure out. Good news - it does run, and pretty well as far as I can tell for the couple minutes I can run it without a radiator. I'll keep looking for the title, seem to remember a 2008 year but I'm not sure.

Eventually my intention is to put the motor and trans in either my 83 RX7 or my 73RX2. The RX7 already has an RX8 six speed, so I suppose that'd be easier, but who knows? Any advice is appreciated.

Thanks
David

2009+ Is Series 2. If your steering wheel has black and silver accents, it's a series 2. If it's just leather and matte black plastic, series 1.

Series 2 also has 2 OMPs on top of the engine, the S1 has a single OMP with oil lines running on the passenger side.

Just look up the VIN number. It will give you all the information.

Cool Gratis

Thanks to All for the update. Don't know how I missed the sticky on this topic before, sorry. The trim behind the front wheel did it for me, I remember throwing that out when I was taking things apart to start it. Pretty bad wreck, set off both front airbags. PO walked away though. Someone else posted the whole wiring diagram, that will be super helpful later.
