Series 1 RX8 Steering Wheel/Clock Switch Problem

Hi guys, new to forum, new purchaser of RX8.
Had a bit of a mishap on weekend in my car, ended up replacing Power Steering Rack with used one. Power steering works fine, but managed to forget about getting steering wheel alignment right and ended up with it at 180* to right. No big issue, can sort that out, but I believe I have damaged my clock switch/possibly yaw rate sensor has after a drive (and not knowing any better) the controls on my steering wheel (audio, cruise, horn) are no longer working, with air bag light flashing on dash and the tc light on. Rest of car is working fine, so I believe I’ve damaged clock spring. Would this also effect traction control? And if I am replacing clock spring, and will have to pull steering wheel off to do so, can I just align steering wheel with clock spring this way? As in having a different lock to lock then factory won’t damage anything else? Thanks heaps for any advice/help. Have done a lot of searching on internet/forums and not much else I can find.

Sounds like a broken clock spring.
replace the clock spring and try:

Center the rack, there are alignment marks on the steering shaft attachment.
once the rack is aligned and attached to the steering shaft you will need to center the clock spring.
there should be instructions on the assembly as to how many turns forward and back.
once you are satisfied that the wheels are straight and the rack and clock spring are straight, attach the steering wheel in the straight position.
get a wheel alignment done and have your SRS system reset
