Series 1 or 2

I have found a 08 rx8. It is the 40th anniversary edition. I know they switched from series 1 to series 2 that year. How to tell?

40th anniversary = 2008
Series 2 was availble as a 2009 model year.

As far as how to tell: the two models look different. The wheels are similar but the front bumper, rear bumper, etc are different.

Thanks for the info. I guess they changed body style in 08 not the motor.

they didn't change body style in MY (model year) 08. They changed in MY 09. MY 08 are S1 body.
