So I'm looking for a core eng & trans so that I can go through them and R&R when needed. I have only been able to find complete 04 car's for sale that are relatively inexpensive ($500-2K). Mine is an 07 which is towards the end of the series. I'm aware of the differences with the auto's 4port vs the 6sp's 6port. Where there any improvements or certain years that were better or worse? Really all I need is a good pair of irons and a trans that has not exploded. My plan is new everything in the engine which brings up the next question. What does it cost to rebuild with all new parts, $5k? Also is there any recommendations for a discount place to buy factory parts? Thanks in advance and have a good weekend.
