Rx8 turning off while driving
Two days in a row my car didn't want to start. Didn't make any noises or anything. Completely silent. Lights didn't turn on, car seat buttons didn't work, etc. Battery is new so I don't know what could be causing the car to turn off. Someone told me my terminals were loose?
Today the car almost turned off one time while driving, and I quickly drove to the nearest gas station and then it turned off on me completely at the entrance. Couldn't unlock my doors or anything and had to unlock it with the keys manually. Someone there tried to tell me maybe it's the alternator.
Obviously I'm going to take it to my mechanic but it's late and the weekend. Might not get to see him until after the weekend. SO in the mean time, I need help! What can cause the car to turn off while driving? anyone else experience this problem before?

Had that happen when I was driving with my friend at night in an unlit road. Gave him a scare.
In my case, it was loose connectors(I just put in a new battery at that point). One of them just came off. I managed to reattach it enough so the car gets home.
Make sure the clamp is properly seated and secured, and if needed get new connectors if they can't be secured.
