New to this forum and looking to weigh out my options to either sell my rx8 or doing an engine swap/rebuild. Just replaced the battery lights are turning on but the compression is so low that the vehicle isn't turning over I was able to drive it not too long ago. I believe the apex seal is cracked and needing guidance on what next steps to take.

 

Let's rewind a little bit. Your apex seals and compression might be fine, or at least passable, because nothing in the description points to a compression problem. Have you had a compression test to confirm this suspicion?

Did it drive fine before you replaced the battery? Is the starter turning at 250rpm or more? What year is the car? Manual or automatic? How old are the ignition coils and spark plugs?
