RX8 Clogged Cat Options

My cat on my 2004 RX8 is clogged and I was wondering what the best solution to it would be. I was thinking I buy a mid pipe, a decat, or just gut my cat. Let me know what I should do, give me your perforation and some pros and cons of all of my options. If there is any other useful information you think I should know about my situation please include it as well.

Thank you.

first: read the new owners thread read this like 13 times

second: if you can stop driving the car, a clogged cat will only lead to a blown engine

third: it is illegal to remove the cat from any vehicle, lots of us still do it tho

fourth: replace cat with an oem, high flow, or cat less(check engine light, smelly, illegal) with which ever you like sound wise

and finally read this thread again no really read this

Thanks for the info, I'll read that right away. Do you know of anyway to get rid of the check engine light problem?

If you KNOW it's bad and you want to keep driving it, gut it ASAP until you make your final decision.
Bad cats kill engines.
I've had the BHR resonated midpipe for +4 years, +60k miles.
That would be my choice.
If you need a cat to pass emissions, you can get a cheap $200 direct fit Walker cat to use temporarily, but it's not a long term fix, or CARB compliant.

Did you scan it?
If it's P0420, park it, or gut it.

I think someone is selling their catted BHR midpipe in the Classified section. Check it out.
