'RX8' centre light

The RX8 light doesn't illuminate. Is it a third brake light or should it come on when your lights are on, or what? I think probably the bulb or fuse is gone but I would like to know when it should be illuminating. Thanks.

That's the "cyclops" third brake light. Just comes on when you step on the brakes.

At least in the US. From you saying "boot" I suspect you're in the UK. I don't know for sure what the rules are there. Maybe one of your countrymen can chime in?

If it does not come on when you step on the brake, you need to pull the bulb out anyway. Once you see the type you'll know if it's any more than a brake light.

Turns out it was a split in the wire from the constant opening and closing of the boot. Rejoined it and it's working for the first time

Had the same thing on mine when I got it, seems to be a common wear point for the cable that runs along the boot lid (trunk for those state side :P)
