Rx8 automatic . engine failure

Hi ! Just bought a rx8 2004 automatic with engine failure . I am going to try to fix the engine , but one question : what is the difference on a manual / automatic engine ? Of course 4port engine . Is it possible to use e-shaft from a manual engine ?

Thanks
Gent

The e-shaft should work. Some other components of the 6-port are built stronger than the 4-port equivalent, but it should all bolt together.

It's usually a lot more economical to buy a complete rebuilt engine. Rebuilding whatever you have now risks having to buy most of the parts individually. Depending on mode of failure at least the housings will need to be replaced.

Considering you are in Norway, trying to do your own rebuild may turn into a nightmare of ordering and waiting for parts. Not sure about the availability of Mazda rotary parts are over there, but in the US it took me 3-4 weeks for anything to get to me.

Like Loki said, you will save a lot of time and money just buying a Mazda reman engine that is already built.
