CA Rx8 at 96k

Hey I got this rx8 about a year ago and it's nearing 100k I'm new to rotary engines can someone point me in the right direction or tell me what should I do for its 100k checkup or maintenance so far I got the car when it was at about 93k and no problems at all except clutch went out got that replaced at a special rotRy only mechanic. I herd that engine life usually is only for 60k so is it going to break soon? Because car runs like a dream no problems what so ever with engine so should I be considered with its life or am I taking care of her well , appreciate any input

Read all the stickies here in the new member forum. There is no hard limit to engine life. Mine has 120k. Others have hit 160 or more

Jon, do what I did. Listen to these wise men. Also, since you don't know the full vehicle history, it doesn't hurt to get the compression checked, when I went the checkup was free since the powertrain is under a 8 year/100,000 mile warranty. Might as well ask, but it sounds like you have a pretty good engine. Mine lasted 92,000 miles, while I've talked to owners that are passing 200,000 miles.

If you are within the warranty and the engine fails the compression test, then the test is covered by the warranty along with the engine. If the engine passes the compression test, or if you are no longer within the warranty (8yr /100k is whichever comes first), then you will be charged $120 to $180 for the test.
