First off, welcome to the forum. There are plenty of topics on this subject as this is a sign of low compression. I would, before doing anything else and putting any more money into the engine, verify compression numbers with a proper rotary compression tester. Ensure the engine is at normal operating temperature when you do this and the throttle is fully depressed. There are many threads here discussing how to properly perform a compression test.

 

Classic low compression symptom. The reason it will die is because when the engine heats up with damaged or worn out seals, the metal will expand and the engine will lose compression and stall. Get a compression test done with a rotary tester. That should be your first move.
