To all you rx8 owners...

I own an rx8 kuro edition and I'm struggling to get 17mpg when it's only done 37k. I know fuel consumption is not great but is it really this bad? What is the true mpg in city and urban? How do I get the most out of the fuel? It seems like you can see the fuel needle dropping as you apply pressure on the accelerator..

Yep 17 is it in the city.

You can get a little better if you drive like a grandma.

RX-8 is a highway car. I get 22 plus on the highway.

 

New and Potential Owners START HERE!: Gas Mileage

 

I average probably 14-15 mpg.
Mostly highway miles, but lots of downshifting and 'enthusiastic' driving.

 

I get 16-17 mpg for daily suburban driving, 22-23 mpg or so on the highway. That's right in line with the EPA mileage numbers. No surprise. Sounds like you're where you should be.
