Haha you can check out my first thread too. Happened 3 years ago. I didn't get a lot of positive replies like you did though. The whole thing went down like a shi storm. But, that didn't stop me from buying the car

Search RX8 comfort and ride quality.

Yikes. Some of those people were pretty crappy to you. Glad you didn't listen to them!

but in michigan at the very least this car is not cheap to insure, every company i've talked to classifies it as a 2dr sports car... they dont seem to care about the size of the engine or that it actually has 4 doors. michigan is also one of the highest cost states to have auto insurance in as well though...

EDIT: that is for full coverage with pretty good $$ coverage, not just the minimum required
Wow that is pretty crazy. We pay 240$mo to insure 4 cars (3 of which are FULL coverage, 1 just has liability). My Rx8 costs almost exactly the same as my Subaru Outback wagon (auto, N/A 4 cylinder aka the family car)... The only "expensive" addition is our Evo which costs noticeably more than the others. My Rx8 is classified as a 1.3L 4 door sedan. lol.

you're $4k below budget for the S2. Go with the I Series.

I see plenty of (non R3) S2s for less than 10k, but usually pretty high mileage.

If I were looking for a car to keep for a while, I would take a higher mileage S2 over a lower mileage S1 any day of the week and twice on Sunday. The mileage difference would have to be huge for me to do otherwise.

I believe mileage differences are irrelevant in a vacuum.
Each RX8 is an individual case study.
and such generalizations don't necessarily apply.

I would rather have a high mileage S1 that was taken care of by a knowledgeable owner who did all the proper maintenance specific to the Renesis as opposed to a lower mileage S2 that was owned by someone who maintained it like a Toyota.
Close to 4 years since I bought my '04 LY GT.
I wanted yellow, and it's the only year it was available.
Bought it with 18.5k miles, now over 55k, and the only real issues were that it had a bad cat from a bad coil when I bought it, on my 3rd battery, and the fuel pump died about a year ago.
I love it more now than when I first got it.
Also, I think the S1is better looking.
