Restore Headlights?

Hey all

So i have some foggy headlights on my rx-8, and was wondering how to restore them? I've put toothpaste on it to try buff them but it appears to not be working. I believe the "foggyness" is coming from the interior of the light. Is there any way to fix this or am I going to need to buy a new headlight?

Thanks

It usually looks like the haze is coming from the inside, but in 90% of the cases it is on the outside.

If toothpaste does not do the trick, I strongly recommend automotive acrylic polish.
I use it on my headlights 2 times a year (before the start and after the end of the season) and they remain looking like new, even though they both were very hazy when I bought the car.

Spray some bug spray into a paper towel. Most effortless solution ever.

I have not had this problem (yet?), but if I did I'd go with one of the name brand restorer kits. Someone who's in the business of car care.
