Question on V8 powerd RX8

This car has been for sale for a while. I think the price started at 18K.
Has anybody taken a look at it and there some reason for not wanting it??
I have no interest just curious..

No interior pictures... No pictures of the engine install.. weirdly high ride height.. the seller isn't exactly helping his case. Also most people here already have an RX8 or 3, unlikely they're in a rush for another.

Ummmmmmm. There are actually 54 pictures of the interior and the VIN is shown in the pictures. (JM1FE173X6-206503)
Now I have no actual proof the the VIN picture was taken from the car in question, but Ebay says that this dealer has 609 cars for sale on the site at this time.. So i would guess .....

As to build pictures. If a buyer was really interested, he/she could contact the seller and get some pictures plus some info of the build. Normal practice for this type of purchase... There is a 50-50 chance that the guy that did the build has an ongoing relationship with the seller..

Hey, maybe there is someone on "X" telling every one the car is a scam. That could be why there is no sale yet.......Who knows...
(I don't do "X" or any other trash media APPs. So I guess I am behind the times...)

Again: I have no interest in the car. I was hoping the someone had actually visited the car and could report back.

I.m always seeking to learn something new every day.. (And, No, there isn't much helpful info on the sites I talk about above..)
Feel free the ask me why..

The ebay listing only has 13 pictures as far as I can tell.

There's a few reason's I'd avoid that car.
This swap would be best described as sloppy.
No idea what swap kit was used or if it was a home brewed. My guess is home brew.
The wiring is a birds nest, good luck sorting out whatever electrical faults pop up.
It's hard to tell from the video, but I'd be willing to bet the gauge cluster barely works and is lit up like a christmas tree.
There's a lot of issues with the body, the passenger door repainted and poorly at that, and there's paint damage all over the car.

All of this is indicative of a car that was hastily built by an amateur and going to have a lot of issues, and be a huge headache. I'd add another 5-10K minimum to the price of the car to sort the issues.

I'd say this car is worth more like $8-10K to the right buyer.

.
Look like you got to see the car in person, right?
Yes the wire near the engine looks to be a bit sloppy.
Could have spent some time dressing them out.
Probably eager to get out on the road.
Looks like their using speaker wire possibly running power to the dash.
Can you point us to the video...

I have not seen the car in person. Just going by the pictures and video on the ebay ad.
The speaker wire is a ground of some sort since it's connected to the cylinder head, maybe it's related to the sound system.
That would be the least of my concern with the electrical in this car. If it does have an electrical fault somewhere down the road, it's going to be a nightmare to figure out what went wrong and where.
Wires are stretched and looped and running in close proximity to the belt and headers. There's random grounds scattered around the engine bay. They've relocated the ABS module which means they had to cut and splice an extension into the harness. Based on the rest of the electrical work would you trust that they did a better job on a safety component. They've got a bolt going through fuse block cover slathered with RTV. Maybe it's holding a relay, who knows. I've fixed a lot of hack job wiring over the years and this thing makes my skin crawl.

Another thing I noticed is the AC fittings on the firewall are disconnected and it's missing the AC drive belt. I can't tell if the compressor is there, but I would assume it isn't. If you want AC add at least $1.5K if you do it yourself, and about $3-4k to have someone else do it.
These are only the obvious things that stand out at a quick glance. Once you start digging in who knows what you'll find.

Maybe the car is a great driver, but is missing on the fit and finish, who knows. I have my doubts, and more than likely it's going to be an enormous headache. It's got too many red flags, and it will take a lot of time and money to sort everything out.
It'd be cheaper for someone to do it themselves from scratch. If someone didn't have the experience to do a swap and just want to buy a finished swap this car will likely end up being way more expensive than spending an extra $10K on a more sorted car.
If something does go wrong on this car and whoever buys it can't do the work themselves it'll get expensive in a hurry. Even if you can find a mechanic willing to work on it they're going to charge an arm and a leg to just look at it, and will charge you by the hour.

Photo?

Some parts have a small opening near the mating surface for the gasket to stick out so you can align the gasket properly. Hard to see without a pic.
