VA question bout rear struts and springs

K I know this is probably a stupid question but I need struts and springs for the rear of my 2004 rx8 I cant seem to find anywhere that I can buy them as an assembly I can buy the strut and spring separate but not together. im going to try and install myself is the reason I would like to buy as an assembly also Im not interested in racing or lowering one. any advice info would be great thanks in advance

Also looks like rear tires are leaning in at top what I mean is from back of car looks like top of both tires are leaning in under car more not sure what that means but figured id add that

You are seeing them correctly. They are separate part numbers. You would simply install them together.

Dude I would just buy the parts and have them installed. If you have to ask about tools to do this job it is not for you. Those things can kill you if you don't know what your doing.

Yes, there are various methods of spring compressing, and kevin is correct. The stored energy of a compressed spring is substantial, and if used improperly they can indeed cause severe injury or death.

If you have no idea about how this all works, just have a shop do the replacement. It's usually pretty cheap, comparatively.

I almost concur on the above. The rears are not under that much compression, but this is not a first timer job.

As to your other question, you are describing negative camber. The standard alignment for an 8 has about 1.5 degrees of negative camber. That does not sound like much, but you can see it.

This helps keep the back of the car where it belongs.

There are some things I recommend for the 04. Check out the First $100 thread link in my signature. Then read through the new owners thread.
