Question about Cosmos Eunos 20B 3 Rotor

I recently purchased a rx8 with a blown engine and have prepared my self for the mental anguish and physical labor that will be required to rebuild the engine. But I just stumbled across the Cosmos Eunos 20B 3 rotor with twin turbo and a sequential gear box. And was wondering if theres any modification I could do to the Eunos to put it into the rx8. I wanted to build a 3 rotor engine but it seems it would be easier and cheaper to modify a eunos and throw it into the rx8. And feedback would be great, thanks!

I recommend you look around a little. There are several build threads on here and it is exceedingly expensive and complicated.

The cheapest engine swap is to an RX-7's 13b, and expect that to be $12k+. 20bs tend to start around $20k, and goes up from there.

It's a fantastic engine, but it will always be cheaper to replace the Renesis with another Renesis.

Literally no other engine can fit where the Renesis is placed, so for any engine, you have to rebuild the front of the car, essentially.

It has a sequential twin turbo. A small turbo spinning up a bigger one

I understand a lot of maintenance is involved but would it be as costly if it did all the labor myself?

Of course it would be cheaper, though you are likely underestimating what all has to be done, and how much work it is. "rebuilding the front of the car" is only a slight exaggeration. Steering, cooling, firewall, electronics, suspension, drivetrain, axles, exhaust...it's nearly all custom made. There are a few build threads, i'd recommend that you start reading them

That's a much different thing.
FYI... the 20B will not fit with the stock manifold and turbos attached... there isn't enough room. You need to make custom motor mounts, manifold etc to get it to fit. .. and that fabrication isn't for the faint at heart....

Thanks for the replies guys. Should I just rebuild my engine and just modify from there?

Yes. That would be ideal and most cost effective. If you have never worked on swapping engines you might just want to stick with the original motor to save yourself time, money, and the aggregation.

I know if I swapped my engine it would most likely become that car that sits in the driveway and collects rust because it would never get finished with all the custom fabrication involved in such a complex project.
