Good afternoon. I'm a potential owner of a 2003 rx8. I'd like to share some information about the sale to see if I can get a subject matter experts opinion on whether it's a solid purchase.

PS: I'm aware of the maintenance required and the mpg, I'll only be driving this in the warm months.




















Price is $4500. 97k miles, with engine swap at 75k. New sway bar, hood back brakes, plugs and wires. I'm looking at it tomorrow. Appreciate any insight!

 

I wouldn't buy one with an automatic transmission fwiw.
Less power, more problems.

 

If you must buy an automatic try to get an 06.

No matter what get the car compression test done at Mazda or a Rotary shop.

Did anybody mention get a compression test? COMPRESSION COMPRESSION COMPRESSION . Cant be said enough.

In posts relativly recent i have completely outlined everything you need from a compression test. look at my recent posts if you arnt aware of the rotary compression tests being different than your standard piston engine and what you need from a rotary specific comp test.

Do Not Buy Without Checking Compression.
