Potential Owner

I'm new to the RX 8 family and have been doing my research thoroughly. I'm currently looking into a 2004 GT. As I'm new to this engine style I followed some of the advice found on the form. Here is the information I have gathered on the one I'm currently looking at:
Engine replaced: No
Milage: 138
Compression test results (per current owner): 90/88/89. No rims provided for test (most likely this guy had no idea what I was asking) test completed August 2013
No catalytic converter, has midlife
Oil changed less that 1500 miles ago
Plugs changed 7k ago
Wires changed 15k ago
Engine has been flooded before
(04) back right taillight replaced, no fish bowls
Oil consumption: 1 to 2 K before adding, didn't say how much
Gas milage: 17 city 20 highway
Clutch replaced less than 3 K ago
Car has had 3 owners
Back bumper dented
Has service records
Runs full synthetic oil
Uses a pre mix (two stroke oil) every 3 to 5 fill ups
Extras: midpipe, CO BP tuning device, powertrix coils overs

Asking price is 7500
Any advice on this purchase is greatly appreciated!

Manual or Auto. Have you had a test drive yet..

Sounds Decent to me..Get a current compression test, the scores you posted are already 9 months old. Also, you did not mention if the Coils were changed, ideally coils, plugs and wires should be changed together every 30k.

I think $7500 is a bit high for an 04, try offering arround 5.5-6k keep 1k in your hands for any immediate repairs that may come up.

Throguhly read the new / potential owenrs thread by RIWWP it packs a ton of great info..

Lets wait for some more experienced rx8ers to chime in.. Post some pics if possible

It's a six speed manual. I will have to ask about the coils. I'm hoping to test drive this weekend.

I've been reading the new member forms for the last couple of days. Was really skeptical at first because I have no experience with rotary engines but I drove a friends 05 automatic rx 8 and love the way it handles and rides so I started shopping

Price is way to high for an 2004 with that many miles. I'd offer him $4500 and neg alittle. 5k max if you're desperate.

Good call young squire, take your time with these cars and do a million point inspection, if they have nothing to hide then they'll let you inspect even there mothers room for evidence of a bad motor!! Lol jk but keep looking for the right one bro!
