Noisy CAT please help?!
I bought my car used this year with 8750 miles. It is a 2009 model so it sat a lot.
Since the day I drove it home the exhaust will rattle above 7000rpm. It sounds like a sizzling or popping noise coming from the passenger area, where the catalytic converter should be.
The noise has gone down some since I have driven it more, but I may be getting use to it or it is because it is getting hotter outside. My passengers always ask about it though.
Any thoughts as to what this is? I have gotten no CELs and the car drives fine. I have also looked under the car after hard driving; the cat is its normal color NOT glowing red like it would in a clog.
