No Start?????

Hey guys new here so sorry if this has been answered a million times. My wife ran her 05 rx8 well below 1/4 and parked it on a hill. I put gas it in because while on the hill the gas light came on. Went to start. Nothing. Moved it off the hill and went through the deflooding routine thinking maybe I flooded it trying to start it. Got it to turn over but I was very low idle and only ran for a couple of seconds then died. Tried deflooding again. Same thing. Any suggestions or tips? Never had this problem before. Engine only has 30k on it original motor. Brand new wires and plugs on about 200 miles of that on them. Maybe weak battery?

Maybe you put in dodgy fuel? What happened when you turned the key? Did it crank over?

out of curiosity- when you start your car, do you insert key and fire it up? Or do you turn key to on position (not firing it), allow fuel pump to prime (3ish sec) then fire up?
Check your fuel line pressure. You could have run it dry and it burnt up.

It turns over just fine. Doesn't sound like there are any restriction like a collapsed cat or any thing. When I start it i usually wait about 5 seconds before cranking with ignition on not running. But now that you mention it that could be a problem. Here the last month or so when I go to start it it turns over a lot longer before actually coming to life. While turning over when starting a second or two before it starts. It sound like it gets choked out but then starts right up. And then runs and idles fine. But I have also noticed that sometimes when I punch it to pass it kind of stutters for a second. So I am starting to think the fuel pump might be leaving me.

Before you start throwing money at it, have you ruled out ignition components? You mention new plugs and wires. But what about the coils?

Could havnt been replaced. Went home on lunch. Tried to start it again doesn't seem to be getting any spark. Yea just replaced wires and plugs. When I get home going to pull the plugs see if the are fouled. Clean as best I can. Ground am out see if I get a spark.
