No dipstick in my RX-8?

So I went to check my oil level and there is no dipstick..... I have gone probably 2000 miles since the last oil change how do I know if I need to add oil? Also suggestions on what kind of oil.

It's to the right of the oil fill neck, a bit low, you have to reach for it. You definitely have one.
Suggestions on oil are it doesn't matter as long as you change it every 3000 miles. Wars have been fought and men have died over the specific choice of oil, so read up on and make your own mind. This is a good place to start in general: https://www.rx8club.com/new-member-f...t-here-202454/

Just buy a new dipstick and call it a day. Brand of oil has been beaten to death on this forum, just about any brand of modern multi viscosity oil will be sufficient. Check the owners manual and keep in mind the area in which you live and the temperatures in which the vehicle will operate and buy the appropriate viscosity. I run 10w40 year round and I live in Texas. Note that my car is not a daily driver and does not see adverse or very cold weather when operated.

I found it... it was just hidden down in there. Thank you!

I interpreted your post as you had it at one point, and then did not at another.

Glad you found it. I personally have been using Castrol GTX in my rotaries since the 90's with great results. I run Castrol GTX 10w30 in my 8's and 20W50 in my RX-7's.
