Hi everybody. So I have taken the plunge and purchase an rx8 2004. And I love it. already uprated the starter motor as I have read to do. I am a very competent fixer of piston engines but this rotary is mew to me and I can't wait to jump in.

Which leads me to my first question to everyone.

I have a dreaded ticking noise. Now I'm sure it's not plugs coils or leads and it behaves In a strange way.

If I rev hard it very apparent and loud but move slowly up the revs and it's not there

Also I have thought maybe it's a blow in the exhaust manifold as it's loud when coming off the revs.
