New RX-8 owner !
I'm proud to say that I just purchased my first RX8 yesterday!!
A little bit about myself, my name is Ben. I currently attend the University of South Alabama. I have owned an 1986 RX7 with a TII swap for some time now and I will never get rid of it, EVER! I never really planned on buying an RX8, I kinda just wanted more RX7s, however, for $3,500 I couldn't let this particular one get away.
It is a 2004 GT 6-speed in winning blue. It is all stock, except for an aftermarket stereo, and it has a whopping 66,000 miles!!The passenger sun visor has trouble staying up, and there is a foot sized dent in the rear bumper, there is no frame/structural damage whatsoever though. Mechanically the car is amazing, near perfect. No leaks or drips to be found, runs smooth and starts easy. As far as i can tell, it has been well cared for its whole life.
First order of business is to replace ALL fluids, followed by air/fuel filters, coils, plugs, and maybe wires (depending on whether the current ones check out or not). In the near future I want to replace the starter and possibly the alternator, just as preventative measures. I want to do everything I can to keep this car in top shape.
That's about it for now. I'm super excited to be joining you guys, and if anybody has any advice or tips they would be greatly appreciated!

Wow. Car looks incredibly clean for its price. Congrats man! Give those headlights a good polish and she'll look like new
Glad to hear that you're gonna do some preventive maintenance. It shows that you care a lot about this car
That's kinda rare these days. All the best my brotha and stick around in the forums

Thanks! Yeah, I forgot about the headlights.. I just ordered the BHR ignition system w/ wires & plugs, and new filters so that'll all be going on as soon as they arrive.
This Friday I will be doing all the oil.
Also, I heated up the rear bumper with a heat gun and was able to bent it back to shape (mostly).
So far, I absolutely LOVE the car though.
