If only I had the money

Btw, is that single 12 inch FAL fan enough to cool the car? Or do we need to get two?

My idea was to use a cheap auxiliary AC fan from the junk yard. Most big SUVs came with an AC fan on the front of the condenser that pushes air inwards. Could pick one up and for around $20.

You would need 2, but at 1850CFM each (and 40A of current!), you would not have to worry about cooling in traffic ever again! :P

How do I fix it? Do I have to take out the stock fan shroud? Or cut it and fix this to it? I could get one at a time. 168 isn't tooooo bad. If I could use one of these with one stock fan for the time being, I actually don't mind getting these.

I think Steve was recommending you replace your OEM radiator fan with two of those.

That's a "puller" fan which means it would blow the wrong way to mount in front of the AC condenser. You'd have to find a "pusher" fan.

When I mounted my FAL 420 fan to my CSF 3164, I used these to mount it.

I haven't looked too closely at the fin spacing for the condenser but that should work there as well.

But Hoss-05 and I also both run Evans water less coolant so the temps are bit higher overall due to that. But even after a hard run I don't get above 215F or so. Both of our turbos run on separate cooling circuits with their own reservoir, pump, and cooler. Our cooling systems are rather different setups though.
Hey 9K, did you ever get more data on whether the FAL 490 is a beneficial/noticealbe upgrade over the 420. I'm deciding between the two fans right now for my car that is used mainly for track days. The 490 is $70 more here in Canada.

Thanks!
