New owner, some questions.

Hello, I just bought my 04 RX-8 just over a week ago. I'v been doing research on the car for a while, and I'v been working towards getting one for four years now. Well I finally have it :D.

I had it inspected by my mechanic, everything works great on it, my compression is great and its all around spectacular in shape! However, after reading on here for a bit I came across a newbies post that was explaining how the engine burns oil naturally and such. I knew that going into buying this car so no surprises there. My car doesn't seem to burning oil though, and according to that same post, that's bad. It said that I should be burning about a quart of oil every 1000 miles; I'v driven it about 1000 miles and my oil level hasn't dropped at all. Its still a above the half way point and my engine isn't making any weird noises, but I think I should be concerned. Any ideas on what could cause this? Thank you!! Also I'm sorry if im wrong on any of my information im still new and i'm only 19.

oil consumption varies and depends on your driving style. iirc the omp is load based. i burn about 1/2-1 qt about 1500miles and i drive mine pretty hard. how many miles on your car? auto or m/t? color? location? post pics because poidh. did you get compression test done at mazda? what are the #s

I just put it to 60k miles, its a 6-speed manual, red, and black plasty-dipped stock wheels (I didnt do that but it looks alright). I also live in seattle, so i'll post pictures when its not raining/pooring pollen and pine needles and I can actually wash the car. I just restored the headlights yesterday because they were super yellow. But their clean now. Thank you for the help thats good to know that they dont always burn that much oil.

general rule is check oil everyother fill up. try to not let gas gauge get below 1/4 tank. fuel keeps the pump cool

This is the first car that I actually own and am responsible for so I want to take really good care of it. it actually just got sunny for once in seattle so im going to go wash my car, and I'll post a picture when i'm done. Thank you for the help! I like this forum, you guys are nice.

Yeah first big thing on the list are coilovers, I'm not gonna go super low but the stock height is kinda high. I need to get new badges too. Whoever had my car last chipped the mazda symbols to make the batman symbol. But he chipped a bunch of the paint too..... So i wanna get new ones and cover the up paint chips.
