New owner, scare of my rx8 engine life
I recent trade my atv + 1k for (4500$) a 2005 rx8 96k miles on it the car is beautiful but the owner did not really take care of it (motor). He never lets the car warm up but he lets cool it down before stop the engine. (he has the type the guy who put the key n lets go!)
the engine start very good. but everyone I know tell me the engine gonna blow because is rota...
what i do all the time:
I lets the car warm up 3-5 min (I wait for the temps go up)
I lets cool down for 30-1min before stop it.
Check the oil level.
the car gonna get a cooling flush from mazda on tuesday.
what is wrong with the cars,
the cat is broken (He put a pole inside to break all the screen) because it was plug.
The auto-level beam back sensor is missing (how i can fix it)
*history of the cars*
Old guy own it... he die, is daughter got it for 1 years have a kids sell the car, the guy bought it then trade with me.
any other tip? thx a lots.

you may want to bring it to Mazda to have it checked out, and buy a new exhaust. that broken cat will probably just caused check engine lights down the road. Good luck with your 8 their awesome cars.
While the mileage isn't too high you may be able to buy an after market warren-tee.

If his cat was plugged, the ignition is probably failing, so if you're going to invest time/money into the car, start with ignition coils, spark plugs and wires.
But like the man said, bring it to mazda and have the engine compression tested. That will tell you if the engine is in good condition or not and you can decide what to do from there. Don't listen to the people who tell you it's going to blow because it's a rotary, it's not that simple.
