Well this chic is seriously pissed right now. I was driving to work and I push in the clutch and the car won't go into any gear and now I'm stranded half way to work in a car I've had less then 4 days! Very sad right now. I love this car, it apparently doesn't love me.

Actually, I'd bet that the previous owner didn't love the car the way the car needed, and dumped it rather than pay attention to it.
Is it automatic or manual?
If manual, I'd guess that it's your clutch pedal assembly welds coming loose. After a NHTSB investigation, Mazda extended the clutch warranty to 100,000 miles.
If it's an automatic, it's going to be a harder answer.

That's actually kinda happened to me before. It always went into gear though after a couple tries and wasn't frequent at all. Do keep us posted...gosh i miss my car!!!
Flood!!!!
I'm getting an engine swap for the 04 cuz my engine is flooded. I bought it like a month ago and I was fixing it up. Would an engine swap stop it from having the rough start and a rough idle as well with newer engine mounts as well?

Hold on. More info needed. If your engine was just flooded, you just needed to empty it through a deflood procedure. Probably occurred due to weak ignition.
A weak ignition can also cause the rough start and rough idle.
Motor mounts have no bearing on starting, but can make the idle feel rough, but not actually affect the engine.

no news on my car, the dealer is fixing it and they gave me a nice loaner... i want my car though! hopefully it wont take long

I see that you have a MT from the pics you posted, so your shifting problem is probably your clutch pedal assembly. When you go to pick it up, take a flash light or something and take a good look at it in the foot well. If it doesn't look brand new, then grill them for exactly what was wrong and what they did to fix it.
And yeah, after the pics you posted, my suspicions were very confirmed on what this thread would turn into

Serious part: Glad the dealership is taking care of you. Like RIWWP said, check that they replaced the clutch pedal assembly. It's a recall an shouldn't cost you a dime. Not sure what the dealer told you, but don't let them try to screw you with a bill if that's what it was.
smegma: You aren't getting a new engine because it was flooded. It must have failed a compression test. While it's good they're replacing it, make sure you're getting new coils, plugs and wires. If they aren't doing it, do it yourself when you get it back. Also have them check that you have the latest flash for the ecu and the updated starter so you don't run the risk of future problems.

If the pedal and assembly is new, then it confirms I was right that your prior one broke as they are known to do (and why Mazda put a warranty on them after the NHTSA investigation).
If the pedal and assembly is NOT new, then you need to get them to tell you what the problem was, and how they fixed it. If they don't make mention of it, they may have just ignored the problem and it's going to happen again, and that is what I'm trying to help you avoid.
Don't let them just hand you paperwork and keys and say "it's all fixed. Here you go" and you walk out.
Too many, way too many, stories of the dealers not really addressing the problem(s).
