2006 manual Grand Touring model. Not my first experience with a rotary. I used to have an 84 RX7 as well. Plans for the car? OMP adaptor, ipod kit, and some other random boring mods.

I'm liking it. I moved up to this from a Nissan Versa, so its a big change for me. The Versa was a good car to get me through college, but now that I'm done and making a little more money, I figured it was time. I'm a mazda tech so it should work out pretty well for me

Nice! I guess as a Mazda tech you knew what you were getting into.

oh and just noticed you had an older rx7 - guess this will be reliable and easy in comparison

haha. yes. I had an 84 GSL 12a!! Had the 5 speed transmission. I had big plans for that car but the money wasn't there (poor college student days).

First upgrade for the car: I need a keyfob. My car only came with 1 key, a valet key. I want to be able to open my trunk and remotely lock/unlock my doors.. Even with my discount at the dealership though they want $200 for an uncut key.. Then they want me to pay to cut it.. Then I have to program it (I can do that bit myself). Ebay here I come. haha

2 upgrades for the car, first off, I installed an ipod adaptor via the spare port on the back of the factory headunit, very pleased with the result. Second, I bought a set of lowered springs with a set of oem shocks/struts on ebay for just over $100! The springs are NF210's. According to the seller, the car they came off has around 70k on the clock, but he has no idea how long the springs/shocks were on the car. So I guess I'll keep the shocks around for just in case and the springs will go on as soon as I have a free weekend.
