Hey guys, my name is Tyler. I was a long time turbo fc owner but after trying out a few different project cars i'm coming back to a rotary. Im currently trying to sell or trade off my na miata in hopes of getting an 8 here soon. Took the miata in a 7 hour long round trip, taking back roads from Akron Ohio to Columbus and back, after that Ive decided I want something more comfortable to drive around in. Im going to test drive a 2004 6spd this Saturday just to get a feel for the cars. Going to be creeping around here untill I get one so i can see what all to look for / avoid in the buying process. I really lucked out with my FC, and im hoping I can get an 8 thats as nice.

I figured a compression test, signs of over heating, leaks, hot/ cold start issues, and I know theres a few rx8 specific ones like the black ring on the coils and what not.

 

Since you're not far from me, I have two 8's that you are welcome to come look at and drive for education, experience, and comparison purposes. I also have a rotary compression tester so if you find an 8 that you really like we can run a compression test on it. Would be happy to help yo uin your search and answer any questions that I am able to answer.
