Good start on the typical items. Two things more that you can check:
- Is it your CAI that is causing the misfire/rich condition? Most of them can give problems like that
- Compression test, coolant test for combustion gasses, and oil test for coolant.

Care to elaborate, just curious as to why a CAI would cause a rich situation?

i have my cai for a long time and she run always great and my coolant is good i forgot to write it ,

Carbon8 07-26-2013 01:50 PM

CAI pipe diameter smaller than stock would probably be over-reporting air flow, generating a rich condition detected at the O2 sensor.

He didn't say what brand, so I was leaving it open as an option it could be. Some crappy intakes out there.

Carbon8 07-26-2013 02:03 PM

Wasn't aware of any CAI out their that had smaller diameter than stock, regardless good to know.

I only ask because my car is running slightly rich.

RIWWP 07-26-2013 02:14 PM

Yeah, I'm not specifically aware of any either, but well... I imagine they exist, especially on ebay.

Danny Leblanc 07-26-2013 02:32 PM

3p I.D for the CAI

250ml per tank for the premix

Carbon8 07-26-2013 02:42 PM

You really made me convert that :slap:

Also its about twice as much as it should be.

04Green 07-26-2013 03:00 PM

Hmm

Rich will foul plugs. Fouled plugs will cause misfire... Vacuum leak will make it run lean, not rich.

Dirty injector that is not closing? Run a can of injector cleaner through the tank? I like Lucas, but it depends on what they have where you are.

20 petal stomp after all the work you did?

Danny Leblanc 07-28-2013 12:59 AM

No vacum leak
20 stomp brake pedal with the oil gauge confirm the reset
plug clean and new new coil new wire i try injector cleanor in the fuel no change and today New cel p2097 with my old p0300 p0172

One day..... One day i will find my problem :boink:

logalinipoo 07-28-2013 01:27 AM

I'm thinking it's the 02 Sensor. If everything was running right I would not suspect the CAI.

Try unplugging the Front 02/lambda Sensor and seeing how it runs.

Danny Leblanc 07-28-2013 01:38 AM

what is the diameter of the pipe to the stock airbox or a good cai

with all your opion im nervous with my custom cai (is not a cheap job tig welded good 3 ply cuppler t-clamp) but in 3In I.D

Danny Leblanc 07-28-2013 01:56 AM

logalinipoo 07-28-2013 04:32 PM

3.375" Stock MAF ID

Rotaruffian 07-28-2013 06:03 PM

I had the same P0172 code and discovered that the nipple on the throttle body that's supposed to be plugged when a CAI is installed wasn't plugged. The plug had come off somehow. (Maybe I did it when I changed the plug wires.)
Also, smell the oil on your dipstick. Does it smell of gasoline? If so, you should do an oil change.

Danny Leblanc 07-30-2013 06:45 PM

i bet for the cai , anyone have a Aem for sale and ship to canada XD

Danny Leblanc 08-14-2013 06:53 PM
