New member new rx8 owner
 

Good morning all. Just acquired a 2004 RX 8. It needs a little work so I joined to find answers to some issues that I will post in the right location.

What kind of 8 did you get?

Thank you, at the moment I’m unsure what kind I have. It is winning blue metallic. The first issue I need to address is the heater does not work. Only blows cool air.

It could be the common motherboard issue.
There is a way to check to see if it's working.
It happened on my '04.
In the 0-16 check in this thread, I could fiddle with the knob to get the heat to come on at 16.
It would work at 16 or not at all.

My bad, it does not have leather seats

So we know it's not a GT (Grand Touring) model.

You should also look into seeing if you have any open recalls that haven't been fixed by entering your VIN number at this site.

So I done this test this morning, I can adjust temp control knob and nothing, but when I push it in, it starts blowing hot air. I believe I will take it apart this evening and see if I’m lucky and it’s just a bad solder joint.

Thank you BigCajun, I used this step by step today and fixed my heater issue.took me about an hour.
