Looks like I need to be a bit more social before asking specific questions (9 posts and counting).

I recently purchased an ex Pierelli World Challenge RX8 and am racing it in SCCA's STL class this season. I owned an FD from about '98 - 2006 and have had a bunch of Miata race cars (Spec Miata).

It currently looks like this but needs some TLC this winter and a new wrap.

 

Nice to see an 8 in race "garb". Do you have any information about the engine you are able/willing to share?

 

Engine is stock internally, per rules, and is required to run a 55 mm restrictor plate.

Ah, cars in that class are 2.0L or less, so I guess going against NA piston engines that makes sense.

 

Nice car, what are some of the cars you are running against.

 

Usually Hondas, Acuras, MX5s, anything NA, 4 cylinder, and 2L or less.

But honestly this will be the first year running it. I've done Spec Miata only in previous years.

Did you find a restrictor plate? I also so need a 60mm plate for SCCA T4. Let me know if you find or make one.

 

I don't think they are commercially available. You have to get one made by a machine / race shop.
